Unite and Fight Back: Town Hall

The racist ruling-class doesn’t have us outnumbered, they just have us out-organized!

Join the PSL this Sunday for a Town Hall at the Cabbagetown Community Center to learn about the Party for Socialism and Liberation and how you can be a part of the resistance against Trump and the billionaire-class!

Trump’s second administration promises to be an all-out war on the working people of America and the planet as it seeks to help billionaires loot the public treasury and maximize their profits at our expense.

It is clear that working and oppressed people must unite to fight this effort and to reject every attempt at division the far-right attempts to sow among us. Most workers support universal healthcare, universal childcare, union rights, the cancellation of student debt, and an end to the endless wars.

The complete bankruptcy of the Democratic Party and its inability to stop the far-right has never been clearer. We must build an independent movement capable of defeating the war on immigrants, women, LGBTQ people, the elderly, and ultimately replace it with a system that serves the majority of people, and not billionaires!

We Fight Back! Rally Against Trump and the Far-Right Agenda

We Fight Back!

ATLANTA: On Inauguration Day, January 20, people across the country will gather in their cities to demand a future that centers the needs of the people over the interests of the wealthy elite. With voices raised for workers’ rights, immigrant rights, environmental justice, and an end to the genocide in Gaza, we will stand for working people, not a billionaire’s agenda!

On Martin Luther King Jr. day, we will honor the legacy of the freedom fighter and civil rights leader by continuing the struggle for the defense and expansion of our democratic rights and for a world without poverty, hunger, and war. This rally will merge with the annual MLK day parade in Atlanta.

Dr. King was a Socialist, Reclaiming MLK's Revolutionary Legacy

In honor of MLK Jr. Day, we invite you to the Atlanta Liberation Center to join us for a community forum and discussion on Saturday, January 18th.

We are often taught about MLK’s vision for peace and equality, but all too often his anti-imperialist, socialist politics are swept under the rug. The truth is, MLK was a militant freedom fighter who was constantly attacked in his day for advocating an end to poverty for all, opposition to the Vietnam War, multinational solidarity and an end to racism — a vision that challenged the foundation of the US capitalist system.

The capitalist ruling class who opposed MLK is the same enemy that we face today. We must not let them be the ones who define his legacy and suppress his revolutionary teachings.

Join us as we build up to our national march on MLK Jr. Day as we discuss the too-often untold revolutionary politics of Martin Luther King Jr. The struggle against racism and oppression

Free Palestine Vigil and Rally

In Honor of Khaled and Reem

Last year, in Nov 2023, the world got to know Palestinian grandfather Khaled Nabhan when a video of him went viral as he bid farewell to his granddaughter Reem, who was killed in an Israeli strike. We saw Khaled embracing Reem’s tiny 2-year-old body, kissing her cheeks, and repeating the phrase “this is the soul of my soul.”

This past Monday, an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza killed Khaled Nabhan. For over a year, Israel has been waging a relentless genocidal war on Gaza. Over 151,000 Palestinians have been killed or injured. Gaza faces a blockade and starvation.

On Sunday, Dec 22, we will honor the lives of Khaled, Reem, and the thousands of Palestinians martyred in the U.S.-Israeli genocide and occupation. We demand an immediate end to all U.S. aid and weapons shipments to Israel. We will stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and demand a permanent ceasefire now

Profits Over People: Healthcare Under Capitalism

The U.S. healthcare system is a horrific for-profit enterprise owned by billionaires. Over the past few weeks, the collective discontent towards the healthcare system has reverberated in our workplaces and in social media discourse following the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

On Saturday, Dec 21, join the PSL for a viewing of the still-relevant Michael Moore documentary from 17 years ago, SICKO, that explores how the US healthcare system compares to other models in the West, including the socialist healthcare model in Cuba.

Healthcare in the US very clearly draws out all the contradictions of living under capitalism. Despite being the most expensive healthcare industry in the world, it is near the bottom in life expectancy, treatment outcomes and patient safety. Millions of people owe thousands of dollars in medical debt, and rely on crowdfunding platforms to pay bills.

Ultimately, the capitalist healthcare system puts profits first, not people’s lives. How do we organize against the rule of the billionaires and fight for a system in which healthcare is a guaranteed human right? We will discuss these questions and more following the film viewing!

Project 2025 and Trump: What It Really Is And How We Can Fight It!

n January 20, the Trump administration will take charge and immediately begin executive orders to launch attacks on the working class in the service of the billionaire-class.

Project 2025 represents the true agenda of some of the most powerful forces backing Trump. A political program of the right-wing that lays out a comprehensive assault to smash people’s rights.

Understanding Project 2025 in depth puts us in a better position to fight it. On Dec 20, come watch a recorded talk by journalist, historian and a PSL leader, Eugene Puryear, who will place Project 2025 in historical context and explain why it is imperative we exercise total political independence from the Democratic Party to defeat the billionaire’s agenda.

After the viewing, we will have a discussion to strategize how we can build a mass movement to stop the agenda of the extreme right-wing and advance towards the end of the capitalist system that makes these types of attacks by the right-wing inevitable.

Join us for a rally on International Migrants Day! ✊🏽

We refuse to be silent in the face of anti-immigrant fearmongering and scapegoating as the incoming Trump administration lays the groundwork for an extreme right-wing billionaires’ agenda.

The corporate executives who are responsible for mass layoffs, union busting campaigns, and horrific working conditions for the sake of their own profits are the real criminals, not immigrants. All working class people must unite together against our real enemy — the billionaire class!

It’s the endless wars and economic exploitation imposed on other countries by the U.S. ruling-class that forces millions of people to leave their home countries and seek a better life elsewhere in the first place.

We will not sit by and allow a massive deportation campaign to target millions, destroying families and communities. We demand NO mass deportations! NO family separation and NO immigrant detention! Full rights for all immigrants now!

This chemical plant has continued to risk the lives of millions in GA and the community demands the facility be shut down once and for all!

The board of commissioners have let BioLab reopen after poisoning Conyers residents! BioLab’s owners should be in prison, but they face no consequences. Corporations like BioLab might have the politicians of both major Parties in their pocket, but the people have the power to make change.

BioLab needs to be shut down and held accountable for the harm they have inflicted whilst putting profit over people’s lives. This explosion is the fourth of its kind from BioLab and we have to unite and fight to make sure there won’t be anymore in the future!

The Facility: Film Screening

Fight back against mass deportations!

Join us on Saturday, November 23rd, at 6 PM for a screening of “The Facility,” a powerful documentary exposing the inhumane conditions and struggles endured by immigrants detained at ICE facilities in Georgia. The screening will be followed by a Q&A and discussion with immigrant rights activist Nilson Barahona, who was detained at Irwin Detention Center and is featured in the film.

Trump’s plans for mass deportation threaten to tear apart families, target vulnerable communities, and expand the violent, profit-driven detention system. The United States currently detains over 50,000 immigrants daily, funneling billions of taxpayer dollars into private prison corporations while denying basic human rights to those seeking safety and opportunity.

We must organize and fight back! Come to the event, build connections, and join the movement to end detention and deportations.

Right now, Cuba is facing a severe crisis as a direct consequence of the 60+ year illegal and inhumane financial and economic blockade imposed by the U.S. government. The Cuban people are facing urgent, life-threatening conditions amidst hurricane damage and devastating electrical blackout, food and medicine shortages manufactured by U.S. imperialism.

We are hosting a night of material solidarity with the Cuban revolution in Atlanta this Friday, Nov 1, 7PM at 541 W Whitehall St SW. Join us for Noche Cubana—win raffle prizes, enjoy the music, dancing, and light refreshments.

As Cuba’s neighbors, we have a responsibility to act and show solidarity. Cuba has a long history of supporting Palestine, other anti-colonial struggles, and the whole world in every critical moment of need, we must do the same for Cuba.

As we continue to organize to break and end the U.S. blockade on Cuba, the PSL, People’s Forum and HATUEY project and others are raising $150,000 to send essential supplies—generators and food—to the island. We have already sent 30 tons of food, help us get another shipment of aid to the island! Let Cuba Live!

National Anti-Police Brutality Day: Vigil

Join us for a candlelight vigil on October 22–National Anti-Police Brutality Day—to honor the stolen lives of victims of police terror. Bring candles & flowers!

Under capitalism, the abuses, torture, violence and racism of the police institutions are absolved. Police are given immunity for their crimes, while working class families await justice for years. Thousands of families across the country are fighting back against an inherently corrupt, unjust system.

The summer rebellion against police brutality and white supremacy in 2020 that brought 30 million people into the streets demanded that the police be defunded. Instead, the capitalist government has doubled down on funding for police and is aggressively pursuing projects like Cop City across the country.

Only a mass movement from below can stop the war on Black America. Join us on Oct 22 for a vigil as part of the week of action and stand with families to demand that killer cops be indicted, convicted, and jailed! Stop Cop City! Defund the police, fund people’s needs! Housing, healthcare, and education for all!

One Year of Genocide, One Year of Resistance: Protest for Palestine

ATLANTA: RESISTANCE UNTIL LIBERATION

In the span of one year, the apartheid state of Israel has killed a projected estimation of 189,000 Palestinians. We hold the United States government 100% complicit and responsible for this genocide because the politicians of both Major parties are sending billions in U.S. taxpayer money to fund Israel’s slaughter, it’s U.S. bombs that have turned Gaza into a graveyard.

The Palestinian people have been courageously resisting a brutal colonial occupation for a century, and we must all stand with the colonized in this fight. The genocidal Zionist project has passed a point of failure beyond which there is no return, due in no small part to the global mass movement that declared that there will be no business as usual until Palestine is free.

On Oct 5, International Day of Action, we recommit ourselves to Palestinian liberation. The people of the world demand a permanent ceasefire, an end to all U.S. aid in money & weapons to Israel, and an end to Israel’s colonial occupation! Justice for Palestine!

Israel’s relentless attacks in Lebanon and the ongoing siege and genocide in Gaza are made possible by the huge quantities of bombs, missiles, and warplanes provided by the US government. Rally: Legalize Abortion! Repeal the Ban!

Rally: Legalize Abortion! Repeal the Ban!

Join us this Saturday in Atlanta to protest the abortion-related deaths of Amber Thurman and Candi Miller!

We hold the undemocratic right-wing SCOTUS, the GA legislature, and the cowardly Democratic Party responsible! These deaths were preventable if not for the inhumane ban on abortion.

Since Roe v Wade was overturned by the undemocratic Supreme Court, the six-week abortion ban (functionally a total ban since most people do not know they are pregnant at six weeks) has become the law of the land in Georgia. Black women are dying from pregnancy and birth-related causes at three to four times the rate of white women. Half of the counties in the state do not even have an OBGYN. Abortion is healthcare and access to healthcare is a human right that we are being denied!

The Democratic Party will not save us from the far-right agenda! They had a majority in Congress during Obama’s first term and now under Biden for four years, and had multiple paths to securing the right to abortion over the decades, but they chose to not codify the right to abortion into federal law. Once again, the Democratic Party is shamelessly using abortion rights as a bargaining chip to get elected to office in November.

Any civil and democratic right that has ever been won in this country has come from the struggle of the working class in the streets. We must mobilize and fight until everyone has the right to free abortion, on demand, without apology. The Vote Socialist 2024 Claudia & Karina presidential campaign guarantees abortion as a human right.

We refuse to go back and we demand the overturning of Georgia’s six-week abortion ban! Come out this Saturday to stand up and fight back for abortion rights!

Claudia De la Cruz is coming to Georgia!

REGISTER/RSVP TODAY:

The two-party system won’t save us, fight for socialism! Join us for a forum and meet and greet to hear from Claudia on why we need to fight for solutions beyond “lesser of two evils” mainstream politics.

Claudia is a mother, popular educator, community organizer, and theologian. Born in the South Bronx to immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic, for nearly 30 years, Claudia has demonstrated a fierce commitment to organizing for justice for working people at home and to end U.S. empire abroad.

She is running for President of the United States with the Party for Socialism and Liberation with a steadfast and clear conviction that there is a need to build political organizations and a mass political movement independent from the two party system of the ruling class.

The Vote Socialist 2024 campaign—Claudia & Karina—is fighting to end capitalism and the rule of the billionaires, and for a new system that puts the working class in power—socialism. Some key points of the campaign’s platform are seizing the 100 largest corporations from the billionaire owners and using the wealth of society to meet people’s needs, ending all U.S. aid to Israel, ending the racist war on Black America, and more.
