National Anti-Police Brutality Day: Vigil

  • Centennial Olympic Park 190 Marietta Street NorthWest Atlanta, GA, 30303 United States (map)

Join us for a candlelight vigil on October 22–National Anti-Police Brutality Day—to honor the stolen lives of victims of police terror. Bring candles & flowers!

Under capitalism, the abuses, torture, violence and racism of the police institutions are absolved. Police are given immunity for their crimes, while working class families await justice for years. Thousands of families across the country are fighting back against an inherently corrupt, unjust system.

The summer rebellion against police brutality and white supremacy in 2020 that brought 30 million people into the streets demanded that the police be defunded. Instead, the capitalist government has doubled down on funding for police and is aggressively pursuing projects like Cop City across the country.

Only a mass movement from below can stop the war on Black America. Join us on Oct 22 for a vigil as part of the week of action and stand with families to demand that killer cops be indicted, convicted, and jailed! Stop Cop City! Defund the police, fund people’s needs! Housing, healthcare, and education for all!
