Keep the Pressure On! Rally to Shut Down Fulton County Jail

KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!

Shut down Fulton County Jail! Justice for the 10 people killed by government negligence just this year!

Join community members fighting for government accountability at the Fulton County Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, October 18. PSL Atlanta will be holding a rally at 9am at the Fulton County Government Center demanding that they fund people needs and not mass incarceration.

Despite a growing movement opposing the transfer of inmates from Fulton County Jail to equally horrific detention centers hundreds of miles away, Sheriff Patrick Labat and Fulton County Sheriff's Office continue to move forward with their plan.

Labat and the sheriff's office are trying to sweep their atrocities under the rug but we won't let them!

Earlier this year, Fulton County Jail received over $2 million for wristbands to monitor the health of inmates. This year alone, 10 inmates have died. Of the 1,000 wristbands purchased by the jail, only 5 were given out. Still, Sheriff Labat wants $2 billion for a new jail and millions of dollars to transfer inmates to Mississippi and South Georgia.

We do not need a new jail and we do not need to send inmates far away from their homes!

We need money for healthcare, affordable housing, and education! Join the movement for justice-- end racist mass incarceration!
