Dr. King was a Socialist, Reclaiming MLK's Revolutionary Legacy

  • Atlanta Liberation Center 862 Martin Luther King Junior Drive Southwest Atlanta, GA, 30314 United States (map)

In honor of MLK Jr. Day, we invite you to the Atlanta Liberation Center to join us for a community forum and discussion on Saturday, January 18th.

We are often taught about MLK’s vision for peace and equality, but all too often his anti-imperialist, socialist politics are swept under the rug. The truth is, MLK was a militant freedom fighter who was constantly attacked in his day for advocating an end to poverty for all, opposition to the Vietnam War, multinational solidarity and an end to racism — a vision that challenged the foundation of the US capitalist system.

The capitalist ruling class who opposed MLK is the same enemy that we face today. We must not let them be the ones who define his legacy and suppress his revolutionary teachings.

Join us as we build up to our national march on MLK Jr. Day as we discuss the too-often untold revolutionary politics of Martin Luther King Jr. The struggle against racism and oppression
