Athens MLK Parade Palestine Contingent: Fight Racism & Apartheid!

  • Corner of Washington & Hull St Athens, GA, 30601 United States (map)

March for Black Liberation and a free Palestine!
Join Students for Socialism and the Party for Socialism and Liberation this Martin Luther King Jr Day for a Palestine contingent in Athens’ annual march!

MLK Jr., who fought racist Jim Crow and apartheid inside the U.S., once said that the greatest purveyor of violence in the world was his own country. At the time, the United States was waging a brutal war on the people of Vietnam. Today, we see the U.S. government funding Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people. The same government that wages war on Black America also wages war against the oppressed people’s and nations of the world.

MLK connected the various forms of oppression facing the working-class in the country into a single struggle against social injustice. The only way to remove that injustice is to remove the foundation from which it grows: capitalism and imperialism. Let’s build a movement against racism, poverty and war!

March with us to demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza! An end to all U.S. aid to Israel, and the liberation for Palestine! Fund people’s needs, not the war machine!
